(KDE 4.x)

This is a nice two player boardgame for Linux/KDE4.
Each player is represented by a colour (yellow and red). The goal of the game is to get four connected pieces of your colour into a row, column or any diagonal. A piece will begin to fill a column from the bottom, i.e. it will fall down until it reaches the ground level or another stone. After a move is done it is the turn of the other player. This is repeated until the game is over, i.e. one of the players has four pieces in a row, column or diagonal or no more moves are possbile because the board is filled.

Download:
The game is written and compiled under SUSE Linux 8.0 using qt.3.x and KDE 3.x. If you use the source file it shouldn't matter though and it will run with any Linux distribution.
Information on how to make and install the packages you can find by reading the README file included in the archives.
- Download KDE3.x source tar.gz file 'ktritoc-1.0.tar.gz'
Installation:
tar xzf ktritoc-1.0.tar.gz
cd ktritoc-1.0
./configure
make
as root:
make install
otherwise (recommended):
su -c 'make install'
or if you do not have installation rights:
cd ktritoc/ktritoc/ktritoc
Note:
On my KDE version the installation does not set some
file access permissions correctly. If no graphics and
no documentation appear perform the following.
chmod -R a+rx /opt/kde3/share/apps/ktritoc
chmod -R a+rx /opt/kde3/share/doc/HTML/en/ktritoc
Quintalign
V1.0.1 (KDE 3.x)
Description:
This is a one player boardgame for Linux/KDE2 and Linux/KDE3.
A bit similar to Tetris in this game you have to keep a game board free, fighting against new pieces appearing every move and clutter the board. You remove pieces by aligning pieces of the same colour in a row, column or diagonal. If you have aligned enough pieces (default: 5) they will vanish making more room on the board. To achieve this you can move any pieces to any location on the board which can be reached by moving the piece on a connected path horizontally or vertically or both. However, for each piece you move new pieces will drop onto the board (default: 3). Only if you manage to align enough pieces so that they vanish no new pieces will appear. You also have a joker piece which can be aligned with any colour.
Thanks:
This game originates from an old Russian DOS game Lines and has been ported and adapted as Shareware game to Windows as Align-It by Sandra Erb. This KDE version roughly follows the original rules but offers more configuration options.
Features:
- Tetris like boardgame - very addictive
- Supports user themes for all graphics
- Various configuration options and levels
